Board of Directors
Board members hold a vital role at Range Respite. The Board of Directors govern the agency, setting policies, overseeing the operations, and granting approval to programs that meet family caregivers needs. The Board approves the yearly budget and requires that the Executive Director report to them the activities and events held, as well as provide them with regular updates on staffing, programs, and budget items. In short, the Board of Directors supervises the Executive Director, who in turn supervises the office staff. As a private non-profit agency, there is no Range Respite without a Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors provides leadership to the agency, utilizing the networking through their individual contacts in the community to promote and publicize Range Respite. Board members donate their time to attend regular meetings and to participate in fund raising and public awareness campaigns.
Board member terms are 3 years in length, unless appointed before the end of an outgoing member’s term. Members are normally elected at the Annual Fall Meeting in October. By-laws state that Board members may serve two consecutive terms. Following the election of Board members, officers are nominated and elected. Officer terms are 1 year in length.
